Once the components were received, precise measurements were taken to determine the required volume for accommodating them seamlessly within the design.

The Build Process

Profile Laser employed ¼” Medium-Density Fibreboard (MDF) to create the sign’s structure. The team skillfully cut and stacked the MDF to form two separate light boxes – one for the internal text and another for the external design. This meticulous process ensured that the illumination would be even and captivating.

True artistry came into play when crafting the front face of the sign. The background featured an intricate geometric pattern that added depth and visual appeal. The words “Razzle Dazzle” were showcased in a playful font, with an offset border between the text and the background art, enhancing the sign’s overall charm.

The Secret to Mesmerizing Illumination

For the mesmerizing illumination, Profile Laser turned to an SP108E wifi-LED controller – a powerful yet cost-effective solution capable of addressing 300 individual LEDs. To achieve high-density lighting and precise control, WS2812b 144 pixel/meter LED strips were selected, ensuring each pixel could be individually addressed.

Running on 5v, the LED system was powered by an internal lithium-ion battery. To maintain consistent brightness throughout the battery life, a stable 5v step-up system was integrated. This meticulous planning allowed the LEDs to shine at full power until the last drop of battery power was utilized.

Before the final assembly, a dry test was conducted outside the sign to ensure the electronics functioned flawlessly.
